Matching funds help run “Food for Life” program in which several volunteers prepare vegetarian meals. Volunteers use raw ingredients and serve to 100+ folks every Monday (Dinner), Tuesday (dinner) and Sunday (lunch) time. “Food for Life” program is open to everyone. Kitchen supplies are either food donations or cash donations and the volunteers buy only the missing food items to prepare the meals. Temple buys organics ingredients for the preparation of vegetarian food. Temple donate generously uncooked food to the local food banks like Hope-Link Bellevue to support the local community.
Second, we will use matching funds to continue running cultural education programs (Yoga, Music etc.) on evenings and weekends for members in the community. Temple run many Secular Programs to promote Indian Art and Cultural in the region by performing various cultural events for the local community like Celebrating festival of Color (Holi), Celebrating festival of light (Diwali), Celebration of victory of good over evil (Dussehra). These programs are promoted through our web site, e-mail newsletters and Facebook groups regularly.
BHTCC will track matching funds provided to ensure that these are used for secular cultural programs only (not religious activities)
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals to build a new temple. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
